| Mission Statement |
| To plan and administer a high quality, uniformly delivered certification system. This will be accomplished by carrying out policies and procedures as established by the MSCB through the most efficient use of the resources available toward the professional development of the fire service.
Objectives:
- Review and make recommendations regarding policy statements and
administrative guidelines to the Mississippi fire service training facilities.
- Encourage the professional development of the fire service.
- Clarify policy established by the Minimum Standards and Certification Board.
- Review appeals.
- Meets the second Wednesday of every month unless otherwise deemed necessary by the majority of the
Board or by the Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson.
- Establish a forum and dialogue between accredited entities that will encourage
reciprocity between these entities.
- Ensure that all testing for certification is done on a valid, credible basis, as described
by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
- Act upon applications.
